Learn How to Add Your Contest. Hosts can announce impromptu and scheduled contests in the "7Seas Social Chat" group channel.

All times shown are SLT, all dollar amounts are Linden "dollars." If a contest doesn't come off as shown, let the host and 7Seas Sass know.

Note: These locations may have special local rules for the area and the contest. Please respect the wishes of the fishing area owner or landlord, whether noted here or not. The ultimate decision of who wins what is at the fishing area owner's discretion, not just according to the contest board. However, if we see a pattern of contests not being held or prizes consistently lower than what's posted here, we'll adjust the schedule accordingly.

How to Add Your Contest

We can list your contest here as a courtesy (not guaranteed.) We announce new contests in our weekly update on Friday or Saturday, usually. We suggest you also promote your contest in the "7Seas Social Chat" group's chat channel immediately beforehand.

To add your information, send an IM to 7Seas Sass with all the relevant information:

• Day of the week for the contest, start time, and end time. One time, or weekly?
• Contest type.
• Name of your fishing area.
• Who's hosting the contest. If it's only hosted at the end, mention that it's a marathon.
• If it isn't already on the fishing area list, we'll also need this information:
  • SLurl. Build an SLurl link to your area here or stand in your fishing area, click "Map," then click "Copy SLurl to Clipboard." (Please IM a SLurl, NOT a landmark... thanks!)
  • Does your area include custom catchable prizes? (Yes/No)
  • Any local rules visitors should know before arriving. (Examples: dress code, no nudity, family friendly / adults only.)
• Read the important considerations about offering prizes, below, then let her know if you want to list an additional prize for winners.

She adds entries once or twice a week, so allow time before your contest. You'll see your contests here and your area on the public fishing area list if it isn't there already.

Important Considerations About Offering Prizes

The contest boards offer free trophies by default. If you decide to offer additional prizes, you do so at your own risk. These prizes are not required and are not officially part of the 7Seas system.

We advise you to think carefully about what prizes you're comfortable offering and under what conditions. There's always a risk that people will win unfairly. Consider the following examples:

• Perhaps someday, someone will figure out an exploit to boost their scores artificially.
• People "camp" and use gestures to cast automatically while AFK, which we can't prevent. Do you mind, or are you just happy for the traffic?
• Employees hired to run contests have been known to funnel winnings to their friends or alts instead.
• People may interfere with team contests by sitting an alt in the opposing team's vacant seats.

If you're not comfortable offering a cash prize, you could do one of the following:

• Offer something that has low overhead cost for you, but high value for winners. For example, you could offer a shop gift certificate or special prize item to show off.
• Or, just hold the event for fun!

Your fishing area is on your land, so how you handle it is your business; you can disqualify people at your discretion. Even so, we advise caution to avoid ruining your area's reputation. If we hear of a consistent mismatch between prizes received and what you claim to offer, we'll remove the prize listing from your entry and may remove the entry entirely.
